Creation of a new Cost Model for the Supply Chain Processes of a Sport Retailer.
Due to the Covid-19 context e-commerce had boomed and now represents a significant part of businesses’ sources of revenue. It has thus become tremendously relevant to understand the importance of allocating the right delivery costs to the corresponding goods through the whole supply chain journey.
What we did
We analysed and modelled all the processes by type of goods (standards, others). In order to determine the real costs of delivery, every operation and resources had been included. Based on those analyses, we created a new Cost Model to allocate the real cost related to each process.
The purpose of action
The aim with such a mission is to improve Supply Chain Cost Models to make them more realistic and suited to the current reality of online shopping. This type of challenge is recurrent in the retail sector and need to be analysed on a frequent basis to implement continuous improvement, cost efficiency and deeper understanding of retail supply chain realities.
