Context
As part of its commitment to supporting the energy sector's transition to a more resilient and low-carbon future, Intysify contributed to a strategic CCGT power plant development project in Belgium. Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plants are a highly efficient and flexible power generation technology that is essential in today's energy transition. By recovering waste heat from gas turbines to drive steam turbines, CCGTs significantly outperform traditional fossil-fuel power plants, reducing emissions by up to 50% for the same electricity output. In Belgium, these plants play a key role in ensuring energy security while supporting decarbonization targets. To support this transition, a major Belgian energy company planned to build a new CCGT power plant.
In order to support this initiative, Intysify consultants were integrated into the client's operational teams in 2023, with the aim of driving operational excellence from within.
Our impact
The main objective of our Intysify consultant was to ensure the successful delivery of the project by improving coordination, optimising resource planning and enabling seamless collaboration between stakeholders, all within strict deadlines and budget constraints.
Intysify took an active role in the brownfield engineering team to define the project scope and critical milestones, assess timeframes for key deliverables and visualize resource allocation requirements. Our consultant effectively coordinated with the engineering, procurement and contracting (EPC) teams to manage responsibilities not covered by the construction contract and played a key role as the main interface with the power plant constructor and other related projects. He helped optimize project management processes to reduce costs and align execution with sustainability and energy security objectives.
Through this project, Intysify helped to lay the foundations for a resilient and low-emissions energy infrastructure in Belgium.
